For more than 30 years, IELTS has set the standard for English language learning and assessment. The IELTS Partners fund a wide range of research and we’re committed to advancing the field by supporting research that ensures our tests remain effective and relevant, and use best practice.

Research proposals

Qualified individuals and institutions are invited to apply for funding to conduct research to support the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

Grants and awards

The IELTS Partners offer grants for research on English language learning and assessment, and awards for best practice in language education. Five different grants and awards are available, with the majority of applications open from April to June.
