The British government is represented in Burma by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and Department for International Development (DfID) office. We also work closely with the British Council. The British Embassy is located on the Strand Road in Rangoon. The British Embassy, Rangoon, works towards the British government's goals of improving democratic norms in Burma, building awareness of international human rights standards, supporting processes towards a just peace, and reducing poverty. The Embassy also provides consular support to British nationals and a UK visa service.
