Dongguan University City Science Academy is June 2004 approved the establishment of the Ministry of Education of Independent School Institute . In 2009, it was co-organized by Dongguan University of Technology and Guangdong Hongfa Investment Group Co., Ltd. In 2011, in accordance with the school goal of "establishing a first-class university and running a century-old school", the site was chosen to build a new campus in Liaobu Town, Dongguan City.
