From 17 July we will be updating our Test Report Forms to ensure they meet Ofqual requirements.Â
IELTS qualifications are regulated by Ofqual, the regulator for qualifications, exams and assessments in England. This applies to IELTS qualifications worldwide.Â
From 17 July all Test Report Forms (TRFs) will be updated to meet Ofqual design requirements. This means they will now include: Â
- The Ofqual logo Â
- The Ofqual qualification titleÂ
All TRFs before and after that date remain valid and can be used in university and visa applications. There is no change to the status of the exam or the results you received. Â
If you received a TRF between June 2024 and 16 July 2026 and would like an updated version with the Ofqual logo and qualification title, please complete this form and a new TRF will be issued after 17 July. This is optional. There is no fee for requesting an updated TRF. Your current certificate remains valid and accepted by universities and for visa applications.Â
Please note, that requesting a new version of your TRF does not change or reset the validity period.Â

Is my TRF still valid?
Yes, your TRF is still valid for university and visa applications. You do not need a new-format Test Report Form.Â
Does this affect how many TRFs I can send to institutions?
No, the number of TRFs you can request remains the same.

Do I need to request an updated TRF if I took my IELTS test before 17 July 2026?
No. You do not need to request an updated TRF. Your current TRF remains valid and can continue to be used for university and visa applications. Requesting an updated version is optional.
If I received my TRF between 1 June 2024 and 16 July 2026 and want an updated version, will I have to pay?
No, simply complete this form and a new TRF will be issued after 17 July free of charge.Â
If I request a newly designed TRF, when will I receive it?
Updated TRFs will be issued after 17 July 2026. We will process requests as quickly as possible, but processing times may vary depending on the number of requests received.Â
If I request a newly designed TRF, but have already sent my existing one to a university or visa authority, will I need to resend the new version?
You will not need to resend your TRF because of this design update. TRFs issued before and after 17 July 2026 remain valid.
